| My involvement with the Legacies Project has been a most rewarding privilege. Starting from the very beginning with finding interested Youth and Elders to matching them up together was most enlightening. All out participants, whether Youth or Elder, come from many-faceted walks of life. The match-ups, with StoryArts Founding Director's wonderful help, got positive stories for the Youth to work with. | |
| The Alliance of Education of the Solana Beach Civic and Historical Society has supported the project from its inception. The germination of our ideas turned into ingenious projects, which tell the Elder's stories. The process started with the Youth and Elders meeting together so that the Elder could tell their story, which was then transcribed. Archival information, such as old photos and documents were obtained from each Elder. Then the fun began with the making of the Youth's projects. What a phenomenal process, with the results being so individualistic and such a wonderful representation of each Elder's life. | |
| It has been a pleasure working and learning along side the youth, Elders, volunteers and StoryArts staff in this living project. The books will make an extraordinary "legacy." | |
